João Pessoa is the city with the most trees in the country; with 18,27 Meters Square of green area per habitant, and it is also the most extreme point of the Americas.
The city is going through a big restoration process in the historical downtown area, which should be concluded in 2005. |
However, the tourist can see in Antenor Navarro Square, the result of the restoration of 2 mansions that were turned into bars and crafts markets.
| Our beautiful beaches, situated in the city, are protected by a legislation that forbids the construction of buildings higher than 18 meters (3 or 4 floors) up to 200 meters from the coast. Thus, it is possible to enjoy the beaches without concrete walls ruining the view of the coastline. |
|
Come to the city where the sun rises first and see the forest, the sea, the history and welcoming people that make it so enchanting.
